LOL.

We planted one of the big bird of paradise plants about 10 yrs ago and that thing just keeps growing and growing, no matter how often we cut it back. I'm this close to having the whole root system taken out because it's become too much work.

You have a good hubby tho! LOL. Good thing he knew what he was doing and was able to fix it so noone would get hurt!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7099962441495472453.post-57960547117164265272009-03-16T14:23:00.000-04:002009-03-16T14:23:00.000-04:00Dani,I was never fond of the Bird of Paradise plan...Dani,
I was never fond of the Bird of Paradise plant, ones on my properties failed to thrive. Like yours, mine took up space but were just "place holders" in the landscape.

But my mother planted one on the semi shady side of her Florida home and the thing was amazing.
15' tall by about 6' wide and grew spectacular "birds" or rich cream, blues and oranges. I've never seen anything like it before or since.

My Mama has a greener thumb than anyone I know. One day, when I am visiting Florida, I might drive by and see if the new owners have been as blessed or if it was just Mama's magic.fishyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15169980377922293950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7099962441495472453.post-90238227736078003622009-03-16T13:10:00.000-04:002009-03-16T13:10:00.000-04:00Lisa, yep, I think I cured him of that. ;)Lisa, yep, I think I cured him of that. ;)Danihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04038703319667640641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7099962441495472453.post-9414587014045115872009-03-16T10:18:00.000-04:002009-03-16T10:18:00.000-04:00It'll teach him buy you new plants, right? lol So...It'll teach him buy you new plants, right? lol Sounds like he got a good workout out of it. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13219366045767828564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7099962441495472453.post-13154237901378334152009-03-16T09:23:00.000-04:002009-03-16T09:23:00.000-04:00Darla, yah, the big gripe was the location and the...Darla, yah, the big gripe was the location and the other was that it never thrived and looked bad.Danihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04038703319667640641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7099962441495472453.post-3700555153612426002009-03-16T09:14:00.000-04:002009-03-16T09:14:00.000-04:00Great job!
