Hubby Rocks!!

Hubby was busy, busy, busy this weekend; he built the first of three raised vegetable beds for me (thanks, honey!) and started work on the new chicken coop. It's humongous looking, but this way there will be enough room for all the chickens. We're gonna keep them separated with the big girls in the old coop and the chicks in the new one for a week or so.... that way they can get used to each other and hopefully that'll keep the pecking and fighting to a bare minimum. Laverne is really my main concern, her nickname around here is Little Ms. Meanie Pants, so I'm sure you get the idea.

  1. Can I rent your husband for a weekend? LOL I have so many things that need doing in the yard and my husband would rather have his toenails yanked out with pliers than do yard work.

Are your chickens noisy? I would LOVE to have some but I'm afraid my neighbors would complain.

  2. ScMomma, Yes, just make sure you feed him. He gets the hungry grumpies. :)

For the most part they are quite, but Vera has her moments. Usually it's when Laverne is being a bully.

  4. Hi Lisa, hopefully this weekend he'll have most of it done. Then comes the hard part of introducing the chicks to the big girls.

There isn't anyone here but me and sometimes I forget in my gardening zeal, not to mention that I probably have at least 95% of all the flower catalogs in existence, that when you plant, you must maintain.well...just letme say, you are a lucky woman. Good job hubby of Dani. Mama kSue

  6. LOL MOM!! How about those Amish that you share the hollow with? There's got to be one that can do some yard work for a pretty woman.

Mom, you know I'm awesome! ;)He's lucky that I've deemed him worthy for 15 years.

  12. Hey Auntie, I think touring some of the old plantations would be wonderful! So much history and beauty.

I'm not sure what our actual lot size is, but it's small and urban.

K9, I checked out your blog and your little hens are so pretty. And such talent you have, your paintings are beautiful!
