Ah yes, the morning dove. Those babies will nest anywhere. Also very tolerant of close human contact. I remember them singing or cooing a lot more when I lived back East. Not so much here. Do yours coo?
Shamu, yeah, they're definitely not the brightest of birds. ;)
I usually hear them coo when they're chasing each other around lookin' for love. And there has been a lot of that in the neighborhood this spring. We have Red-bellied Woodpeckers in our front birdhouse and in the back we have Great Crested Flycatchers nesting. Sweeeet!
I love the little birds, chickadees and wrens. They always have a lot to say. I'm never sure how any wren can calm down long enough to actually sit on her eggs.
coooo coooo coooo. at my moms doves nest in their porches every year. a delight to all the residents. great photo. doves look so sweet dont they? i love that tough of turquoise around their eyes.
I can't find my nesting dove anymore :( She had a nice nest in the tree by our shed, but after all the rains I never saw her again. She was sitting so diligently for about 2 weeks before she disappeared. Such a cute pic of yours!!

Chickory, they are very sweet looking birds. And very calm about my girl checking them out every five minutes! ;0

Wow, what a wonderful catch, and the mother even looks like she's posing! You should enter that into a contest of some kind.
