Dim Sum Sunday- How does your garden grow?

My friend Shamu hosts a food meme on Sundays called, Dim Sum Sunday. The idea is to use the weekly theme when coming up with Sunday's dinner recipe. It doesn't have to be yours, and you don't even have to cook it yourself! It just needs to fit the weekly theme. And this week's is, How Does Your Garden Grow?

Since our garden is growing well, we've had a bounty of tomatoes and zucchini (not to mention, more eggs than we know what to do with) that were just begging to be cooked. A quick search and we found this recipe for a easy zucchini, tomato, and cheese tart to use for our Sunday dinner.

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!

Thanks Shamu for inviting me to join in the fun!

  1. I love quiche and this is an excellent version. A perfect use for excess eggs and veggies.
Thanks so much for joining the fun.

  2. Shamu, three eggs down, three dozen more to go. :0

Thanks FC! It's mighty tasty too.

    Lisa, Happy Anniversary!

  3. Dani, welcome to DSS. It must be nice to have a year round garden. Judging from the basket full of produce, it's doing quite well. The quiche looks great, especially the crust - nicely browned. I can't believe it only used 3 eggs. I almost picked up some zucchini at the produce place for grilling but I already had more than I can cook this week. Maybe next week I'll get some for the grill.

Happy DSS! (that's what we say)

  4. I love eggs. I have to stop myself from eating so many. It's probably a good thing I don't have chickens. I bet you could make and freeze a couple of quiches.

  5. Buzz Kill, thanks for the nice warm welcome. :)

Shamu, I never thought about freezing them. What a great time saver that would be!

  6. That really looks tasty! Your veggies always look so good. Don't be surprised if you find us on your doorstep at dinner time one evening LOL

  7. Hi Dani, I live in Miami what part of Florida are you in?

Our growing season just ended...are you able to grow anything in the summer where you are? I live in a midrise now, facing north and no sun. Can't even grow petunias!

I miss my garden and love "perving" on other people's sites for their gardens, flowers, veggies.

  8. Exactly. Too tired from chasing butterflies or swimming with dolphins to actually whip together dinner? Just warm up the handy dandy quiche in the freezer.
    Or.
Start your own antique freezer items to leave to the next generation. Your offspring will just love trying to identify that unlabeled, ice laden mass lurking at the bottom of your freezer. Nothing says love like a bag of 30 year old frozen broccoli.

  9. ScMomma, come on over! We would have such a good time hangin' out.

LaDivaCucina, we're over here in the Tampa Bay area. Pretty place, but crowded.

I'm still gardening, but I'll hang my hat up come July, August and September. Way too hot for the veggies and me!

Shamu, don't forget hangin' with the chickens, stalking the yard birds, and protecting the homestead from cute, fuzzy bunnies. That's hard work I tell yah!

*snort* "Nothing says love like a bag of 30 year old broccoli" *snort* Hahahahahaha

  10. Dani, thanks for that, I thought you could have lived further up north and have an extended gardening season.

Just got back from Ybor City for the Tropical Heatwave festival, it was fun.
