For this week's Dim Sum Sunday, I bring you
Fried Ice Cream.
Ice Cream, rolled in crushed corn flakes, and deep fried in 360 degree oil.
Fried Ice Cream, that I didn't really like.
I'm sure it's because I got lazy, and went with store bought ice cream. I should've had Hubs out there cranking us out some homemade ice cream, then it would have been excellent! ;)
Go and visit Shamu at The Karmic Kitchen for some more, tastier ice cream fun.
I ALMOST did fried ice cream. I got even lazier. I'm glad you tried it even if it didn't work for you. I will say, it's only fair that the Hubs gets Father's Day off from cranking. I promise next Sunday, no cranking.
ReplyDeleteHappy Dim Sum Sunday.
at your house the four food groups are ice cream, cobbler, fruit and mmmm mmm good. grherha
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I had some fried ice cream at a very expensive restaurant once and have dreamed about it ever since. Share the recipe - PLEASE! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe word verification is resead which seems so appropriate for your blog LOL
Homemade ice cream is at the top of my list of the very best things in life!
ReplyDeleteShamu, I'd say we were both having motivation issues yesterday. ;0
ReplyDeleteChickory, ha! It does seem that way!
ScMomma, we went with a recipe off cooks.com.
I think the main reason ours didn't come out right is we didn't freeze the ice cream balls long enough. That goes back to me being lazy. :)
So, I'm thinking ice cream doesn't have enough fat in it and it now needs to be fried?
ReplyDeleteLOL!
FC, you slay me!:0
ReplyDeleteSnB, I knew I should have put Hubs to work yesterday making ice cream! :) It really does taste the best.
MMmmm!!! Looks good to me, store-bought or not, wish I would have had some of this yesterday!
ReplyDeleteI saw in the news yesterday that someone caught video of a Florida Panther. How cool was that?
ReplyDeleteThanks Diva!
ReplyDeleteShamu, Holy Cow! That is very cool!
They're so shy and elusive, the only pics you see are from game cams. Makes having video footage even more extra special.
OMG that looks soooo good... I mean bad ... i mean good. Wink. Yum.
ReplyDeleteI read about them being nocturnal and shy but this was in a Florida nature reserve (can't remember which one) and it was in daylight. Still pretty cool. Hope it avoids all the pythons and gators.
ReplyDeleteIt sure looks refreshing on a hot day!
ReplyDeleteHere's the panther vid and story from aol:

Enjoy, they are such beautiful creatures!
Hey Diva, thanks for that! I'll watch it as soon as we get back from swim lessons. :)
ReplyDeleteMy heart doctor says I can have 1/2 cup of ice cream a month so fried ice cream wouldn't get my vote for such a rare treat. The idea of it doesn't appeal to me and I'm glad you tried it to save me the trouble:)
