Over the weekend, Hubs worked in the garden emptying the compost bins and building me a new raised bed.
Not the most pleasant of tasks right now, considering it's like a million stinkin' degrees outside!
But in the end, I got a brand new raised bed (you ROCK Hon!) filled with FREE compost.
Woohoo!
I can't wait till my seed order comes in, and I can get out there and start planting for the fall!
It looks great. I can't believe there isn't a bunch of skinks in that compost! They love compost piles.
ReplyDeleteHe works fast...keep him around for sure, LOL. It is hot and humid for sure!
ReplyDeleteIt's actually cool here. Makes me want to grill more.
ReplyDeleteConsidering you have a garden around more during the year, do you miss it the short time it's not there?
FC, I have skink envy!
ReplyDeleteThe one you rescued the other day was a beauty. :)
Darla, yep, he's a keeper.
Sham, horribly so. It's such a part of my daily routine that I'm kinda lost when summer sets in and there's nothing growing. This year though I've been doing a lot of sewing and that's helped a lot.
do tell about the order!! i bought some things from "botanical interests" like the multi-colored radishes. we'll see. i still have watermelons still growing...they are hard and i am worried....
ReplyDeleteChickory, here's what was on my order to rareseeds.com.
ReplyDeleteRapini
Romanesco Italia. (broccoli)
Golden Beet
Chioggia Beet
Chantenay Red Core (I think this was a lettuce)
Creole Collards
Strawberry Cabbage Lettuce
Crimson Forest (lettuce)
Cheddar Califlower
Graffiti Califlower
I'm gonna hunt around today and see if I can find some seed potatoes. I think I waited too long though. :(
The beds look great!
