Shamy, It was pouring early this morning! Yippee! But come on now, why does it have to rain when I spent most of yesterday making the front porch nice and tidy. GRRR....;)
My seed mania is out of control! But the good news is, there has been talk of making me a bigger front yard garden. WOOOOOOT!
We have never grown broccoli before. Any suggestions? I am not sure where in Florida you are. When do you plant and do you start with a little seedling plant?
Native Mom, I just hope we get to enjoy some of the yummies before the little wild bunnies do.
SnB, If I'm not mistaken, I think I'm zone 9b. I usually start sowing seeds for my winter garden at the end of Sept. in little seed trays. The best potting soil that I've found so far has been Lambert's. It's a nice, lightweight mix. Great for keeping the little seedlings from getting too wet.

Your cruciferous veggies are obviously ok after the cold snap but how did your beans and tomatoes fare?
Don't forget to save some celery seeds to make celery salt for bloody marys! (C'mon girl, get your priorities straight!)
Comin' over to make a nice gratin with the cauliflower, yum! haha! What are you going to do with it? Creamy cauliflower soup with a hint of nutmeg is nice too.

The tomatoes are toast. All 37 of them.*sniff* It's okay though, we made green tomato and rasberry jam and pickled pretty much what was left.
