Surgery for Mom

This morning, my sweet beautiful mom left her house out in the hollow, to make her way to a hospital in Kentucky for gastric bypass surgery. At 64, with stents and a pacemaker on her heart, it becomes a high risk surgery.

I pray that it will all be okay.

  14. Oh, I understand. When my father had his procedure last week, they did not LIKE the fact that he has a pacemaker. I heard the doctor say "please put a crash cart in the operating room". AGHGHGH.

Glad to hear it all went well. I hope you're able to relax a little? xoxoxo. You're all in my prayers.

  15. Yep, doing the happy dance!!! WoooHooooooooooooo!!!

Boxer, that was the biggest worry. No one likes going in knowing there's a bad heart. ((hugs)) xoxo

  16. Dani,
Glad to read Mom's surgery went well.
It is hard to be the one in the waiting room and it's hard to be the one waiting to hear long distance. In our Pond, text messaging and photos from our phones has helped us all so much. And of course, lots and lots of prayers from friends, cyber wishes and hugs from blog friends and, of course, a good dog to pat while we're stressed!
Hope all your Mom news continues on a positive course and that she will be back in the hollow promptly.

  21. OK, I have gotten behind with all kinds of things and am just reading this.
So we have something else in common: both of my parents are eastern KY natives, as were my grandparents and a few more back. Mine are from Stanton and Irvine. Where is your mom?

  22. My mom and her side of family all come from Elliot and Carter county. They've been up in those hollows since before the war of the states.
