Looks like the newspaper changed your father's name for him. Bwahahaha
I've never seen a birthday party annoncement like that. Was that a special perk becuase your grandfather worked for the paper?
It's interesting to see pictures of your parents when they are young. My father died at the age tha I'm at right now. I look at some of the last pictures we have of him and I always think, "boy, he sure look older than me."
Happy birthday jerry. we missed so much. wonderful grandbabies, old age, being alone too much I wish with all my heart that it could nave been different...
What is Life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.
Dani, All day today the date was catching my eye, but my brain wasn't cooperating with why it was important. Then, I came home and saw your photos, and I did a mental "doh". Thank you for sharing these memories of your dad. Love you, MFD.
Oh, Dani, what a beautiful tribute! So sorry that you lost someone so very dear to you. Take care...
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos, sorry that he was taken from you too soon. His personality comes through in those old photos, love the one on the bike!

I love the photographic story, its beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your dad Dani. It's not fair when our loved ones are taken from us through illness and accidents before their time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have these photos to remember him and love the one with the camera!
It's a strange feeling when you outlive your parent.
Thanks ThreeC. :)
ReplyDeleteErin, I love how proud he looked riding his bike with his boy scout uniform on.
Buzz, yeah, I'm thinking it was because Grandpa Patsy worked at the paper.
I think life was much different back then, and like your Dad, it aged them quick.
Thank you Kelly.
I had a great time checking out your blog this morning! It's beautiful in your neck of the woods.
Diva, I loved seeing her picture that you had up on Mother's Day. It was beautiful, just like you.
Aww, thanks Dani, a little tear just escaped! x

You are missed.
Old pictures are indeed the best, Dani. So sorry you lost him too soon, but there is joy in many of those memories, no?
