Buzz, it's a great park! I think you and the family would enjoy it. Just come in the winter and you won't have to worry about the snakes and jungle like humidity.
Hi Aunt Dani, it is Emily and Ella. We were looking at your pictures on your blog. We really like them. They are very beautiful. Love Ella and Love Emily.
Dani, what kind of snake is that? It looks like a piece of metal? All of your photographs are wonderful. The turtle, the frog, the dragonfly and the settings that are lovely while perfect for a horror movie at the same time. You certainly have an eye about what to share.
Stumbled across your blog and I do believe we are neighbors! We live in the subdivision at Sawgrass Lake Park! I am thrilled to find another Florida gardener. I need help!!!!!!
There are MANY peacocks in the hood. I think we had about 4 new males last year alone. Once in a while they wander my way...one was fanned out one year trying to impress a pea hen right in my drive way against the white garage door. What a sight!
Nice pictures but way too many snakes. My inlaws live not too far from here (Sun City). Maybe we'll stop here next time we visit.

Is this the Sawgrass Lake Park in Pinellas County?
ReplyDeleteRaw Beauty! Thanks for the wonderful wild tour!
ReplyDeleteGranny, it's an adult Yellow Rat Snake. The little one is also a YRS, just in it's juvenile colors.
ReplyDeleteShamy, I'm such a slacker!
Cathy, yep. I was thinking of you when we saw the orchids up in the live oak tree.
Chandramouli S, it was a perfect Friday. I'm glad now that we made time to go out.
"Wild" Florida is just so beautiful. Thanks for all the great photos.
ReplyDeleteOK what's the big satellite puffball thingy?
ReplyDeleteShamy, it's called a Buttonbush(Cephalanthus occidentalis). It's found mostly in swamps, floodplains, banks of ponds,
ReplyDeletelakes, and streams.
So it's not an alien pod?
ReplyDeleteIf Ripley shows up, I'll be sure to call you.
ReplyDeleteHubby always says that the flora and fauna of Florida is like Jurassic Park! That huge buttonbush is just more proof! I love snakes too.
ReplyDeleteI might just have to get out to a park this weekend.... Great photos Dani.
