Good work on those covers Dani. I just got an email from my grandmother in Vero Beach and she mentioned she had covered all her tender plants as well. Your low is our high today, and with 35 mile per hour winds, it is coooooold. I hope to bundle up and go check on the greens under their plastic covers. Perhaps harvest some salad greens. Stay warm.
Dani doesn't need a pop up shelter, she needs a politician to talk all night towards her plants. They will be fine as long as all that hot air keeps blowing.
I passed a man in the grocery store parking lot last night that commented that this is supposed to be Florida. They're here on vacation and had to spend the day shopping for warm clothes LOL
I like Shamu's suggestion - politicians spewing hot air at your plants would work just fine!
Sandcastle reminded me of last year. Friends from North Carolina came to Disney and nearly froze to death there. They didn't realize we have an occasional cold snap! I'm glad it's only occasional. I nearly froze today at work making my rounds in homes where no one seems to have heat or doesn't want to use it due to $500.00 electric bills! Brrrrr!
EEEK! Day before yesterday we had on the air, yesterday we shut it off and opened the windows, today we put on the heat! Hope your lovely plants make it through tonight, Dani!
Best of luck keeping warm, dearie. Holding a good thought that this will be just a temporary cold snap for you and the garden. Up here, there seems to be nothing temporary about the cold, which is going down to 8 tonight (sigh).
Dani, I just read that as "10 days ago", instead of "10 years ago" and was WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA? ;-) Hope all your plants are staying cozy. It's brrr cold up here too. MFD
Mom and Dad put Christmas tree lights in their citrus trees to keep them warm. They seemed alright this morning after a pretty good cold snap last night.
Everything went through the cold snap ok. Had to recover everything else yesterday cause we had another cold front come through. High today is only gonna be 49.
What is your family sleeping on - the carpets? Bwahahaha It was 29 here in South Jersey this morning. Way too cold for early December.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA!!! That about sums it up Buzz.
ReplyDeleteThank God John and Elizabeth put up with me. :)

ThreeC, as long as we don't get a hard freeze I think the veggies will be ok.
Darla, y'all have been getting slammed with these cold fronts! Hope your pretty flowers will be ok.
NanaK, I'm always on the lookout for new yard flamingos. Love them!
Linda, living on the gulf coast keep us a lot warmer than the inland counties. *fingers crossed* for no hard freezes.
Thanks Anon!

Erin, the dogs aren't quite sure what to make of the sheets. Big Goobers kept barking at them.
Eggy, honey that is some cold weather! Try and stay bundled.

Thanks Boxer. Gonna stay inside today and try to get some more pics of the pups with their Christmas antlers on.
