sorry about Ollie. I still mourn Eva -5 years now. But the glory of the beach...the funny cocked gull head, the glistening water. you on the couch looking lovely. its good.
Thank you for the IDs! I got the skimmer a few posts ago, but I had more or less given up on the terns, although royal tern was one of my guesses. I have very little experience with shore birds, so the learning curve is steep. I really love seeing them...learning new birds is very exciting! So thanks!
I never look at your blog without thinking of Ollie. We all miss him. I don't believe I've ever seen a photo of you. You are quite the beauty as is everything that surrounds you.
You are so beautiful, Dani! You fit the standard Poodle very much. I have been enjoying your posts, although I haven't been very good about commenting. And I love comments so I promise to be better. :)
Losing pets is one of the very hardest things that happens. They are so close to us, never judge, and are always, always happy to just be with us. The time with them is never enough.

Love the feathers fluffing in the wind. Your photos are always so beautiful. I love what Martin Luther said regarding the death of a pet: Be thou comforted, little dog, Thou too in Resurrection shall have a little golden tail. Martin Luther
Ah, I love them! I read your posts, field guide in hand, so I can learn new birds.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bad blogger. lol. Next time I'll id them to make it easier for you. :)
ReplyDeleteThe black and white bird with the strange looking beak is a Black Skimmer. My favorite bird in the whole wide world.
The rest of them are Sandwich and Royal Terns with a couple of gulls mixed in.
I'm so sorry about Ollie, Dani. I know you miss him.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your photos of the terns, they have punk rock hair dos! And that black one? Never saw a black skimmer before, so cool.
By the way, did you know our seagulls are HUGE compared to the ones in Australia?
Well done girl! xo
Seeing a Black Skimmer flying low over the water is a thing of beauty.
ReplyDeleteloverly, loverly, I loves beach and ocean pictures!
ReplyDelete:-( Ollie was lucky to have you and you were all lucky to have Ollie... it's never enough time.
ReplyDeleteYour beach birds are very tame? Or do you have a great lens?
The sunset picture is stunning.
Hangin' at the beach is a good way to spend an evening. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll get back to yah Boxer. Gotta go pick up Elizabeth real quick.
ReplyDeletebeautiful pictures Dani. Sad with you for Ollie. I think of him often. No time limit on mourning dear one. Very bittersweet moments. I love you.
ReplyDeleteOLLIE!!! Miss him.
ReplyDeleteSo many beach birds. I love the little ones that skitter up and back as the waves wash ashore.
Boxer, the birds are tame as long as you're not chasing them willy nilly up and down the beach.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mom. ((hugs))He was my best boy ever.
Shamy, sanderlings are busy little things. Everytime I try and get some good shots, I end up with blurry birdie booty as they hurry past.
Ollie's favorite toy was a little stuffed hamster you had sent in a box of goodies. He loved that thing so much. :)
Nice, I love the one with Elizabeth holding the pale...I know you do miss Ollie.
ReplyDeletesorry about Ollie. I still mourn Eva -5 years now. But the glory of the beach...the funny cocked gull head, the glistening water. you on the couch looking lovely. its good.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos that make me nearly smell the salt air. A lovely way to commemorate your dear Ollie.

ReplyDeleteIt doesn't seem that long ago that we were seeing Ollie photos, I know you miss him terribly. Beautiful shots of the birds!
ReplyDeleteWOWSA!
ReplyDeleteWhat Boxer said about Ollie.
ReplyDeleteI could not improve on that.
So true.

ReplyDeleteMartin Luther
That makes me smile SPP. :)
ReplyDelete(((hugs))) The best thing about dogs is how much we love them. The worst thing about dogs is how much we miss them when they are gone.
