In the Garden

I have some lettuce left that hasn't bolted....been such a warm winter for us.

Laverne

My Louis Philippe Rose aka Cracker Rose is growing so well.

Cotton

My bush beans that I sowed last week are all coming up.

Gonna go ahead this week and plant my eggplants and tomatoes. Maybe sow some more bush beans.

Have y'all started ordering seeds yet? Any garden plans for spring?

  2. Your Laverne is a twin to my Chicken Little. CL is our oldest hen (around 7 years old!)and right now she is missing. I am very hopeful that she will turn up soon. She tends to hide her nest outside the pen when she gets broody but I can usually find her hiding place.

  4. ThreeC, yep, seed catalogs are porn for us gardeners.

Granny, I wouldn't mind having a couple more easter egger hens. Love their light blue eggs.

Sending good thoughts to you and Ms. Chicken Little. :)

  7. Have the chickens ever seen themselves on video? Don't know if you have an ipad. I wonder how they would react to seeing that?

  8. Erin, the mosquitos have been horrid! Hate those nasty buggers.

Boxer, we've been in the 80s now for a few weeks. Great for bean sprouts, not so much for my winter veggies.

Shamy, you might be on to something...
