Dim Sum Sunday ~ Kids Choice

Today we turned Elizabeth loose in the kitchen, with an added twist of whatever she cooked, Shamu had to cook too. Great twist Shamy!

Elizabeth's pick was Spaghetti with Sicilian Meatballs.

She started out by chopping up some basil for the sauce.

Adding a little olive oil.

Couple cans of diced tomatoes, and the sauce was ready to simmer on the stove for about an hour.

On to the meatballs...

Grinding up some pepper to add to the milk, egg, breadcrumbs, and sweet sausage.

Mix, mix, mix.

She had a blast rolling out the meatballs!
Which really surprised me, I thought she'd ask either John or me to do this part, but she was in there with both hands.

Way to go Elizabeth!

You made us a fabulous dinner of spaghetti and meatballs.

Head on over to The Karmic Kitchen for more kid fun.

As an added bonus ~ Shamy's beautiful pictures.

These meatballs are SO GOOD. I'm so done with ground beef meatballs. Sweet Sausage Meatballs for me from now on.

Great Job Elizabeth!

I'll bet these would be good with hot sausage too. I get tired of frozen meatballs so I will have to make some time to do something like these.

Nice job and Happy DSS!.

Thank you. I loved the meatballs! They still remind me of smooshed up brains.

Brains? Girl, you've been watching too many Zombie movies.

I think it's a case of too much Anthony Bourdain. If that's possible.

Yay to Elizabeth for a job well done! How long did you bake them for and on what temp? Fabulosa!

PS: Left a comment on Shamy's blog about your super clean kitchen. With a kid. And a dog. And a husband. How do you do it?!

Diva, I'm a little obsessive when it comes to the kitchen and floors.lol. The rest of the house is the normal mess. Lots of books and toys everywhere.

Elizabeth! What a cool thing to do!Can't wait til Summer. I'll bring lots of recipes. Be quiet Dani. I took a lot of them out. Found some really neat new ones. We'll have fun.
Have you seen "Where the Wild Things Are" yet? Dani, do you still have the book? Everybody loved that one.
Thanks to Chickory for "The Dani Mama". Think I may have found myself. By-love you
