Oh how I do miss beachy summers! Our Mom made all us pale children stay inside between noon and four. We did lots of art projects, including hand crafts of our own designs. The bliss of that time is something I sorely miss. I am delighted to see these pursuits are still in your realm!
What's with us girls bringing our needles to the beach? Brings a new meaning to "needle beach" (which is what one of our beaches here is referred to, and we are not talking about crafting!), let's just say that's definitely not a beach we visit LOL!
I'm a Florida late-winter/early-spring girl. I like temps in the 80s with lows in the 70s. Summers are a bit too hot for me and this past winter was a bit too cold. LOL. Don't I sound like a delicate little flower?
Dani, I'm being dense and can't figure out what's in the center of the embroidery. It looks like a ladybug with palm trees on her back. Please put my mind at ease and tell me what it is. ;-) MFD
I so envy your photos of leisure hours spent on the beach. One of these days I'll go sit and draw by the lake. Sunday night we will have fireworks displayed from every area of he lake and we will sit in the house and watch them. Old and getting older.
Hey where's my comment?
ReplyDeleteWell that looks interesting.

ReplyDeleteYou made me smile
ReplyDeleteAnon, don't know.
ReplyDeleteShamy, just wait till you see what I'm workin' on for you! It's nuts!
Fishy, sounds just like us. Hit the beach in the mornings and evenings. Hide from the hot sun in the afternoon.
ThreeC, smiles are always good in my book. :)
I can't figure out if I'm more of a Florida summer guy or Florida fall guy. I love both but for different reasons.
ReplyDeleteTFB, I'm a summer girl all the way!

ReplyDeleteWhat a cool shot, Dani! Glad you're rockin' the summer!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yeah, not quite our scene either.
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of the gulf waves and Elizabeth's playful laughter when I'm sitting there with my hoop and threads. Seems almost magical.
Eggy, long live summer vacation!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's amazing! How can you see in the sunlight like that - that's really cool!
ReplyDeleteYes, it does!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot! Hurray Summer!
ReplyDeleteAhh, the beach. :)

ReplyDeleteI never learned how to embroider, but it looks like a relaxing pastime. I'm looking forward to my own beach time in about 3 weeks!

ReplyDeleteMS, I've learned from past experience to make my outlines very dark. :)
ReplyDeleteFloridagirl, I'm glad I'm in good company.
SPP, it's all I could think about this past winter.
Kelly, it's our favorite place to hang.
Darla, it really is.
Miz S, you cracked me up last year when I saw the pics of your bathing suit(in a good way). No need to worry about skin cancer for you girlfriend. :)
Kate, John and Elizabeth are just like you.
They don't do summer AT ALL!

ReplyDeleteRia, hehe. :) Those lines are so hard to see!
ReplyDeleteWhat you are looking at below the trees are three little hills, sitting on rocks. Down below that, you'll see some squiggly lines which is the water.
When it's done, it'll be a cute little island scene.

ReplyDeletewhat's it like to have sunshine?
ReplyDeleteSeriously. :-)
Happy Happy 4th of July!
Indeed it does! Looks like you're making the most of it!
