Happiness is enjoying the beginning of your winter garden, while we harvest the last few things from our own. Thanks again for the seeds this spring!
Yay! 58 degrees this morning when I took Tippii for her walk! Can't even imagine the 90s anymore!
ThreeC, you are so welcome! :) Glad you liked them.
Melissa, *groan* we still have a couple more months to go...
Your tequila sunrise pepper sounds very interesting, as does the cheddar cauliflower...yum! Looks like you're off to a good start.
Susan, the cheddar cauliflower is awesome tasting!
I roast it in the oven with a little olive oil and salt and it comes out divine!
I'm looking forward to updates about your garden. I would plant this fall but it looks like I'll be moving and gardens don't move too easily.
Your planting list reads like a poem :) Thanks for the cutie-pie photo too!
eggy
Wish I had time to get in at least a fall lettuce garden. But, I'll just have to admire yours.
Jiggy is seriously cuter than a dog has a right to be.
Pretty baby seedlings! Ugh, parsnips - good luck! I couldn't get them to germinate, well, not true exactly, I got tired of waiting and retilled the dirt and planted something else LOL. Also found out they can get REALLY huge and I had just "tucked them in" to a corner of the bed :)
Ah,Jiggy has the life!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do NOT want to see the words "Dreaming of Winter"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jiggy has such a kissable nose.
Yummy!
Shamy, I think you need to come and visit us when it's winter. Get some of this great Florida sun.
Thanks for the input Erin! I think I'll stick to buying them at the store....hehehe
TFB, where yah movin' to?
Eggy, he is a cutie pie for sure!
Moi, who cars about lettuce when you have all those awesome peppers?!
FC, he gets lots of big smoochy nose kisses.
MS, you gonna be planting anymore in the garden with The Sweeties?
Moi, *cares*
Parsnips?? Ask Donna, Larry always grows them. He knows all.
Yum...I'm planting some of that cheddar cauliflower. Sounds yummy!
Wow ! what a great list. The cowboy and I are planning a garden for next year. I can't wait.
Dani, i'm so excited for you! I used to love seeing my first little sprouts! I love parsnips, they are so much more flavorful (and less bitter) than turnips. Great mashed with a bit of potato. My farmer from the CSA grew them successfully here last year and she is much further south. So it CAN be done! I look forward to seeing your progress.
First that's some very serious sweetness in that face. :-)
LOVE the sprouts, impressive list of things you're growing. I'm always shocked when people are starting gardens in September. You are so lucky to live in a placw where there is... sunshine!
Have a lovely weekend.
We are trying to wrap our Northern minds around a winter garden. We will be in FL for the winter and plan to garden, but scary after such a cold winter last year. Cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce are all started and will be put in next week. Cross your fingers for a great growing winter.
Imagine my giddiness when I googled "Flora-Dade" tomatoes this afternoon and instantly recognized your Jiggs! LOL, the world isn't that big after all is it???!
