Thanks Dani, just the inspiration I needed! I am set to leaf through veggie catalogs and do my order today and it is dreary and miserable outside and hard to imagine anything growing out there, but now I can :) !

Is this really your own garden? Is it really this beautiful and well tended? Does your garden really grow vegetables and flowers this nice and invite little birdies for photo shoots? I love your garden.

That is a prize winning cauliflower. Sometimes I imagine you out in the garden, sleeping next to your veggies, whispering to them to grow up big and strong.

LAVERNE.

I am so jealous and happy for you all at the same time. I love your pansy. They are my favorite of all types of flowers.

A much-needed spot of color and light on a dreary day here with 4-6" of snow predicted for tomorrow. Thank YOU, Dani, for taking the time to share your lovely garden with us.

Gorgeous shots!
I planted broccoli for the first time this winter and have baby heads just forming. Can you offer any advice as to when I should start cutting the heads so they regrow more? They are quarter sized now.

LOVE the little bird! (Oh, ok and the big bird too just so she won't get jealous)

Tricia, I usually go by the look of the individual florets. You want them to be about the size of a match head.
Depending on the kind, the broccoli head can be 4-7 inches across.

Your pansies are MUCH happier than the pansies we have in my part of the world. And I'll say again, pansies are the heartiest flower I know... so why is being a PANSY, bad?

Beautiful pictures as always. :-)

I love pansies. They're always so cheerful looking.
