  3. Chickory, you were so close, it was pak choi.

No, I don't dare do something like that...I'll end up with a bunch of roos, I just know it! And I'm already pushing it keeping The Girlz illegally.
I live in fear of the code enforcement man... lol

You're so sweet Lorie! How was the vacay for you and the family?

  7. hope it's ok, I'm taking the picture of the yellow flowers to use as my screen saver today... the rain and clouds have returned and this little ray of sunshine is just what I need.

    Happy New Year!

  9. Your veggies look so yummy. Winter vegetables are a lot easier to grow for me. Thank goodness they can take some low temps.

  10. LOVE the color on the first viola/pansy(?). It makes me smile. Even on my best garden day, it never looks as good and delicious as yours. It's a good thing I'm not your neighbor because there would be a raiding party every night and I would so totally blame the rabbits.

  13. Darla, it's gonna be some good eats too!

MS, I need some good kale recipes. I overplanted just a bit... ;)

Buzz, I love the Kentucky Wonder beans. They're so hardy and sooooo tasty.

ThreeC, thank you friend for the kind words. I've found doing the genealogy that I come from a long line of farmers. Maybe the green thumb comes from that. :)

Boxer, I don't mind at all. Makes me feel good knowing I can bring a little sunshine to someone.

Happy New Year to you too! I was so ready to get past 2010.

    FC, you slay me!!!!!!!!!!

Susan, they're a lot easier to grow for me too. Not as many bugs out either to chew them all up. I like that.

Shamy, it's such a beautiful pansy! I love how the yellow radiates out from the center.

After it goes to seed, I'll grab some so we can share.

Granny, nope, but I think next planting I'll go with a stringless variety.

Linda, girlfriend you go right ahead and break out the paints!

I really do have the sweetest bunch of friends in y'all! Thank you for making MY day so bright. :)

Dang, I'm just downright chatty today! lol

  17. Dani, Zinnias will get powdery mildew/mildew if they are too wet. They can go long stretches without watering, too much water also makes them fall over.

  20. Beautiful Flowers.
My friend Dr. Frank Egler was a friend of Rachel Carsons and he assisted her with Silent Spring. Like Rachel, Frank was a famous conservationist. You would surely enjoy reading one of Dr. Egler's books. It's called "THE WILD GARDENER IN THE WILD LANDSCAPE" and it's about the art of naturalistic landscaping.
I wish you well and thanks again for those lovely floral photos. A flower once saved my live. Seeing your's has revived me.
