Pastels and a Poem

Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.

There is a symbolic as well as actual beauty in the migration of the birds, the ebb and flow of the tides, the folded bud ready for the spring.

There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature - the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter.

The lasting pleasures of contact with the natural world...are available to anyone who will place himself under the influence of earth, sea, and sky and their amazing life.

FC, I've taken a gazillion pictures of it. What a beauty!

Kate, I'm sure the neighbors wonder about us nature freaks.;0

Thanks Darla!

Shamu, I lose a lot of time in the garden standing around watching them. Such busy little things.

There's a big pick your own orchard here in KC that has a plexiglass hive in their little store. I love watching them work.

Shamu, that's so cool! My insect book said that they live in colonies of up to 80,000 workers led by a single queen. WOW!

Girls rule!

yesterday as i worked it was so interesting to watch weather move west to east the changing colors of the sky and nothing to hear but creek fall and bird song...sometimes a bark or two and dusty learning to crow. i would NEVER have a radio and i never feel alone up here.

beautiful words and pictures. you continue to inspire towards all that is good and authentic in life.

Chickory, your post from yesterday was beautiful! Glad you were able to make it to the cabin for a few days.

ScMomma, I love poetry and the written word.

Hey Jo, thanks for stopping in.

Mom, ((HUGS)) The Big Guy had to give me something good to makeup for the failing body. ;)
