Awww, I'm sorry. I'm sure all of the Father's Day adverts don't make it easier. Or that's how I feel about Mother's Day and I guess this year too. :-(

As for "does it every get to a point where it's a just a day?"... This year was the FIRST year I didn't think of my beloved BIL on May 23. It was, finally just a day. But it took ten years. xoxox.

Dani - I don't think you ever do want it to become 'just a day' - you know? That's when you know someone was so special...when no matter how much time passes, it's never 'just a day.'
Father's Day is always really hard for me too. I try to keep up a smile, but I miss my dad so much when it comes around. It's really hard when I'm helping the boys make Father's Day cards for their other grandpa and I wish they could make a card for my dad...

Ahhhhh. My heart goes out to you. But that photo is a lovely tribute.
Dads are like that, looking out for their sprouts. Your dad knew I had a Major Love of old black and whites, especially kids with big-assed grins. I wanted to see those negatives too. Delicate little chemical postcards of love.
