Dim Sum Sunday - Grilled Fruit

For this week's Dim Sum Sunday, it's all about grilled fruit.

Yummy, Grilled Bananas Foster.

I was a little skeptical at first, not knowing if I would like the taste of the rum in the sauce, but after the first bite, I was in love! It had a great flavor that went well with the cinnamon, bananas, and the non-hand cranked, non-homemade, vanilla ice cream. My only regret with the recipe, is that we halved it, and now it's almost all gone. :(

Hahaha on the store bought ice cream. That desert sounds amazing. I'll trade you my sticky rice recipe for your Bananas Foster recipe. I love bananas (ok maybe not as much as blackberries & peaches) and this was a great grilling choice. The other really simple recipe I saw was cutting an unpeeled banana halfway lengthwise & stuffing the opening with chocolate chips and tnen grilling it until the chips melt. Hmmmmm. Great way to get your daily fruit.

Shamu, bananas and melted chocolate chips...mmmm good! Great for a kids dessert too. :)

I thought we'd do away with the comment mod for a little while and see how it goes.

Dani, a great desert, no doubt. And a great picture, too.

Looks great. Bananas Foster usually requires that you flambe them. Did you do that or did the grill kind of take care of that for you? Nice job.

Thanks Prospero!

Buzz Kill, oh yeah, we had some big flames goin' on! It was the coolest!

This is probably my all time fave dessert and it looks divine!! Great job!

When we were kids we used to do banana boats in foil on the grill with choc. chips and mini marshmallows but I can't remember what we called it.
