Dim Sum Sunday ~ Pumpkins/Squash

For Dim Sum Sunday this week, we went with a wonderful Butternut Squash and Hazelnut Lasagna recipe.

Having never cooked butternut squash before, I was a little hesitant, but it went well and I loved every bite of it! A great autumn dish that I will definitely be making again.

Apple Galette

Maybe not an actual "pie", but it had all the yummy goodness of one.

Feeling Beachy

Woohoo! Feels Like Fall Outside

The last two days it's felt like fall in Florida. Overnight temps of 65 degrees and daytime temps around 85.

Be still my heart.

The veggies are all quite happy with the reprieve.

Especially the broccoli and cauliflower. I've really had to baby them the last month,making sure that I kept them well watered and in the shade.

Thankfully, it's worked and now everything is really coming in well.

Dim Sum Sunday ~ Making Mole Poblano

For this week's Dim Sum Sunday theme of Chile Peppers, we thought we would cook up some yummy mole sauce.

This was a very time consuming recipe, (definitely not something you should start at 4 in the afternoon, when you decide that the recipe you had picked out, seems lame) with a whole lot of steps and ingredients, but all the work is worth it. The end result is a yummy complex taste. Spicy, but with a underlying sweetness from the chocolate.
