New Beginings

Hanging upside down, they dry out and pump blood into their new wings.

Doesn't take long and they're ready.

Take off!

It always seems so magical, watching them go from tiny eggs to beautiful butterflies.

I am so envious! My caterpillar on the milkweed is gone.....did a bird get it?

This is so awesome. Do you have just monarchs or are there others?

Granny Annie, you are so right!

Darla, it was probably wasps. They are quite the good little hunters when it comes to caterpillars.

Shamu, right now that's it. We had Red Admirals mating yesterday, so hopefully she'll lay some eggs on the false nettle that I have planted.
They're the coolest looking caterpillars!

Threecollie, do you have butterflies out yet or is it still too chilly?

C&J, yep, they're my little babies all right. :)
