It's official, it's cold, and I'm not happy. One of the downsides of life with Dystrophy is the lack of muscles to keep my body warm when the cold hits. As Stephen can tell you, a lot of time is spent indoors with lots of layers on and the heat cranking. And don't even think about touching the thermostat! So, I thought for today I'd combat my painful, icky mood with some nice cheery flowers. And really, it's kinda hard not to smile when looking at a bunch of flowers, well and some chicken photos too, cause they're just down right adorable.

Those flowers are gorgeous! They looks so soft and velvety. And every time I see pics of your girls I want some! Silky is SO pretty and looks so soft.
What's with this cold weather? This is supposed to be Florida for Pete's sake!
Cheer up Dani, it's going to warm up!! Your pansies are beautiful and that Silky is one of a kind. I mailed your seeds yesterday.
I love my Silky girl, she's the sweetest!!
If you ever do go with stealth chickens, pick the Silky breed. They tend to be quieter and calmer.
Thanks Darla. Hopefully the weather report is correct and I'll be back outside for the weekend.
The flowers and chickens are gorgeous and I thank you for sharing them. I am so sorry the cold has slunk down out of the north where it belongs to trouble you...hope you are soon warm and cozy.
I'm sorry you feel bad. But, enjoy those pansies that only grow in cold weather. Soon, it will be too hot for them. Stay warm!
I hope you manage to stay warm.
What beautiful pictures! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely chickens.
I love chickens.
Dani, you live in Florida! How cold can it be? Don't shatter my illusion of your near perfect climate. It's 6C here in London which is about miserably average. What temperature is it where you are? I dream of the Florida sun. I read your blog to warm up. Stephen.
I love the cold, but confess I never knew of that side effect of MS Dani. Thank you for teaching.
From now on when I wish for a cold front I will include this addendum, "... but let it stop at the Citrus county line"
Threecollie, past two days there has been frost in the morning, made me think of your winter window pictures. :)
Cathy, best part of the winter is having pansies.
Hope your youngest is having a wonderful birthday. So nice that he came home for a little while.
Breezey, chickens rule!
Stephen, the last two nights we were dropping down into the low 30s.
The best part was seeing Elizabeth so excited over the frost. She still talks about being at her cousins house last year when it snowed and they got to build a snowman. So precious.
FC, Happy Birthday! I'm glad the Bear/chicken chase didn't do you in. :0
Good idea, Dani. I should have stayed inside and just looked at old pictures. Old as in the beginning of the week before everything turned to mush with the cold weather.
Thanks for sharing your pretty flowers. I don't even bother planting pansies anymore since they don't last past March. Of course they would have survived this week when so many other flowers didn't. Sigh.

The plants need as much cold as the FL can give them. I'll bear in mind the advice on stealth chickens although I can still see that one.

Meems, ((HUGS)) I'm so sorry friend.
Paulie, chickens? What chickens? No chickens here.
You definitely live in the right state: Florida only has those few cold days per year. Warm weather is just around the corner.
I love pansies! their little delicate selves are just irresistible to me and my mom hates them so I tease here that they are like garlic to ward of vampires. :) And your chickens are always beautiful! hope it warms up and you feel better in no time. :)
Your flowers are definitely mood-lifting. And, so are your chickens. How adorable they are! Don't fret, warmer weather is right around the corner.
Robert, there's no better place to live than Florida.
Lisa, you are so bad! ;)
Susan, the chicken antics are always mood-lifting.
That is the cutest chicken I have ever seen in my entire life...
