Since it's Thanksgiving, Shamu decided to run DSS up until Sunday. It gives us a few days of fun to show off all the yummy dishes that we've cooked up.
So, for day one, we give you the classic cornucopia
Here's Elizabeth modeling our extra fancy cornucopia mold.
Braiding and muttering.
All baked up and cooling.

HOLY COW!!! I've never seen anyone make their own cornucopia??? That's amazing. BRAVO!!!
OK, I'm so very impressed and want to know how to make that. Need more info. What kind of dough? Sweet? Normal? I have a 10 year old nephew that would love to make this with me.
You did a great job.
I approve of the nuts.
Wow, that's beautiful! What an amazing project. I hope you had a very happy, bountiful Thanksgiving. (And, yes, ignore the Wii Bitch.)
Thanks Shamy! We had such a great time making it! Give a kid a roll of foil and some dough and they're in heaven.
Boxer, any normal bread dough will do. Just roll it out and cut the dough into inch wide strips, then braid. Next, you'll spray the mold and start laying the braided strips on it. When it gets to the size you want, pop it in the oven and bake. Let it cool and slowly wiggle the mold out.
The only tricky part in the whole thing is the braiding. Everything else flowed pretty well.
Wii Bitch, I'm glad you approve.
Shamu, yes, but at least I didn't get slammed with the ten pushups between bastings. ;) That was harsh.
Thanks Moi! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving too. :)
Wow, that's BEAUUUUUUUUUTIFUL times a meeeelion!!!
I am sooo going to try this!
It looks like it would have taken more than one roll of aluminum foil! Wow, I'm gonna be making one of these before I die. That is one cool cornucopia!
You did such a great job, i wish i could do things like that. We hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving.
