Dani, looks like you are off to a great start! I do them in smaller cages and they love the straw, I am sure with that nice big straw bed you will get a pretty nice harvest, good luck!
I've never seen a straw bed before. I had been trying to find containers deep enough to grow them. This is stupid day would you tell me the names of the blooming plants, beautiful things. You're so good at this. I have a book title for you. Comes directly from Louise...Guernsey Literary and potato peel Society written by Mary ann Shafer and Annie Barrow. I'm trying the liberary. Love you much. God Bless The Dani Mama
Mom, the first picture is broccoli that I let go to flower. The next picture is the potato flowers and then one lonesome marigold that I've managed to keep alive. Hope your ok. I'll call this evening. I love you too mom.
Hey Patti, I picked them up at Walgreens. They were $5.99 and I got the last two that our store had in stock. It just made my day thinking about all those tacky flamingos hangin' out in our yards.
Sooooo beautiful. The one of Ollie made me chuckle. That dog has a goooood life. Haha
Hey, how can I get your meatballs and sauce recipes? The Sweeties want to make them... Can you put the recipes in a comment on my blog or in a FaceBook message? Yummy!
MS, if you go back to the DSS post, you'll see the name of the recipe(it's a lighter color script). Just click on it, and that will take you to the recipe on Epicurious.

Beautiful pictures. I love the one of the pup - she looks so comfortable.
Wonderful, wonderful pics! I love them all!
I know that Ollie look. It looks like there's a fly pestering him and he's just waiting to SNAP at it.
ScMomma, thanks. :)
ThreeC, we had another wave of little birds come through yesterday. Made me think of you. :) Spring is on it's way!!
Shamy, SNAP is what little sassy Vera was doing! She dropped that wing and was heading straight for the camera lens.
Is that a potato bed behind Ollie? If so, it's awesome!
Erin, it is. This is our first time doing the straw method. Hope it works.

Hi Dani,
Love the colors on your photos. They always seem so bright and "alive".

I always get soooo tickled looking at your life there. Love the garden, Ollie, Elizabeth and all the homey goodness your blog represents to me!
Awesome pics. That flamingo looks almost tame! LOL. I wonder if your flamingoes will turn white like ours did in this darned Florida sun.
You should enter some of your chicken pics in the Backyard Farming chicken photo contest. You've taken some wonderful pictures for your blog of them!
You: An amazing photographer.
Me: Jealous
It certainly looks like you're in full-blown summer! Bees and chickens and blooms! Beautiful!!!
