Wow, I'm really impressed. Here I tried to go as simple as possible and you guys made BAGELS!!! Although I'm not sure Elizabeth needs all those assistants.
I think you must have had this up your sleave when you gave Shamu the theme. I always think of bagels as bagels, not bread. And they are bread.
I've never made bagels either and Elizabeth made it look easy. And boiling is the only way to go. We have several bagel shops in the area and the New York/Jewish shops are the absolute best. And they boil them too. My favorite is sesame seed. Nice job.
ThreeC, they are very tasty! Had another one for dinner a little while ago.
Shamy, the recipe we used called for the dough to set overnight. Next time I think we'll only let it go a couple hours. The bagels lost some of their shape sitting that long.
Erin, I think the boys would love it!!
Buzz, nope, we were just doing what Elizabeth wanted. I was thinking a no knead recipe would have been easier, but she wanted bagels.
Go Elizabeth! Such a lovely young lady she is turning into! First I was going to make cinnamon buns (but saw a recent photo of myself and changed my mind) Then I thought bagels! They look great! I didn't make them cuz I worked the last three weekends in the house and because it didn't rain on Sunday arvo, I was not leaving the pool and sunshine for nuthin'!!! Good job!
I've always wanted to try bagels. I have a recipe that came with my breadmaker, but have never done it. I am showing this post to Harper (truthfully, she is a gifted baker - don't really know from where she gets that skill!) and hope she will make some with me - or rather, let me make some with her!

Happy Dim Sum Sunday!
Wow, I have never made bagels but I am intrigued! That will be one of my winter project/recipes to try! Your daughter and dogs are so darn cute :)

Those are GORGEOUS! And I love how the dog supervised every step. Haha Fantastic, Dani and Elizabeth!
A very, very long time ago I made bagels with my mom. Yours look absolutely perfect! Great job! Happy DSS!
Excellent! I used to make bagels all the time and forgot just how fun the process is. Happy Dim Sum Sunday!

Bagels? Those aren't easy, but you both made them look easy (love her t-shirt btw)
Boiling is the real thing, so nicely done. Now to go see your new fence. :-)
Makes me miss you & E. & J. all the more.
