New Fruit

New growth on the Isis Black Muscadine

Last weekend, we went to Jene's Tropicals and bought some fruit and berries for our garden. We already had an idea as to what we wanted, and good thing too, because my brain went into overload from all the cool plants she had. Thankfully, Hubs was there to act as my voice of reason (he totally denies this, and says he just does what he's told and keeps his mouth shut) and we ended up with just the right amount to start with.

Heritage Raspberry
Blackberry (don't remember the name)

Jewel Blueberry blossoms

My heart is thumping with delight at the very idea of going to the garden store and buying stuff...and your purchases sound exciting as all get out! I bought some dirt with Christmas money the other day and felt so fulfilled! lol

I get hungry just reading the names. I love muscadine jelly. Guava jelly is yummy, too.

Dang! I'm only a few hours north and I feel like 3Collie looking at your tender new grape growth and blueberry blossoms.

ThreeCollie, soon you'll be out there, and we can enjoy your posts about all the wonderful things you have growing.

Darla, there was so much I wanted! I had to keep reminding myself that I live in the city with a small lot.

Susan, I love the thought of the grapes doing well enough for me to make jellies.

FC, I hope the cold days coming up won't hurt that tender new growth.

dani: last night was a very fun night. i showed my husband your chicken house and wouldnt shut up about it. i mean, would. not. shut. up.

okay okay! said he. i was looking at pre-fab coops -wow in the UK there ware some great options but here the best i could find is a 1500.00 gig from amish country. ouch.

so he said he would build it if i found the plans so thank you for the link.

i am going to put you my sidebar as the chicken guru. youre ahead of me on the chicken front -ive had my two hens for four years but its been like having two pet birds -they havent lived as chickens. they come in the house at night! they have a basket in the kitchen where they watch all the goings on -and sample appropriate foods.

i looked at every chicken post you have yesterday. im SO glad aunty belle told me about you. xo chickory
