Evening in the backyard garden.
The cowpeas are really starting to take off.
Pretty Zinnia.
The tomatoes are setting fruit.
Cosmic Purple Carrots.

Your backyard garden is to die for!!! Love, love it!!!!
Dani: our wisteria is about 3 years old, we keep it pruned like a shrub.......it the type that blooms about 3 times a year...thanks for the compliment.
Darla, I'm suffering from Wisteria envy now. :)
Hi Dani. I see you started your cowpeas. It's only in the low 60s here and I'm thinking it's too cold. What's your temperature like these days? Nice backyard, very inviting.
Prospero, the temp today is supposed to be a high of 86 and the rest of the week will be in the low 80s. A lot of my winter veggies are starting to bolt now, so from here on out it will be summer veggies.
Your garden is beautiful. I envy the southern dwellers that can start their veggies sooner and enjoy carrots already! Those carrots are really cool...Mine have just sprouted and I cannot wait!
Beautiful veggie garden!!
Holy Smokes Dani!!! Your garden is outrageous! Man am I jealous... Just beautiful!!! You must be so proud.
I love the header on your blog too - great job with that!
Dani - LOVE your new header - looks so good!! Nice work!
Those are great garden pics - I'm jotting down that carrot variety.
Kimchi, we always look forward to the winter and spring. It's so wonderful to be outside after being cooped up during the hot months.
Wicked Gardener, thanks!
Kate, goodness, y'all making me blush with all this sweetness! Thanks!
Whiterice, the cosmic is my new fave. They have a nice sweet taste without being bitter. Thanks for the kind words.
What a lovely setting. What is that beautiful red tree that's blooming? I've never heard of cosmic purple carrots - they are sooooo cool. How do they taste?
Hey Susan, that's a big bougainvillea that you see in the picture. It's just now starting to lose it's shabby winter look.
The Cosmic is a great carrot! I'm pretty sure I got the seeds from rareseeds.com if you wanna give them a try.
I feel like Charlie Brown at Halloween. I got a bag full of mud.
Those carrots are beautiful. I want to take their portrait.
oh! Oh oh oh!! Lovely back yard -that color bouganvilla is amazin'...youse talented, Sweet Pea!
What are cowpeas?
I'm ready to come sit in your garden in the evenings. Up here in the Carolinas we are just now soaking our Moonflower seeds and won't really put out veggie plants until next week.
Shamu, lol. Poor Charlie Brown never had it easy.
Thanks Aunty! Anytime you and Uncle come this way give me a shout.
Fishy, I tried to cut and paste the info from Wikipedia, but my computer isn't going for it. Sorry. :)
My moon flowers that I sowed never came up. I'm wondering now if it's because I didn't soak them.
wow wow wow!!! are you going to fry that zuchini flower? lovely as always. Gosh you are the most amazing life affirming place to visit.
Chickory, are the flowers good fried? I've heard of people doing it, just never tried it.
You have a great mix of flowers and veggies. I was going to plant some veggies in my front yard, too, but now that I'm gardening at my neighbor's, I probably won't.
I am just going to have to drive down there and slap you silly! I'm so jealous of your wonderful weather! And dolphins and even your chickens. :) Of course if I go to the trouble to get down there I better stay for a while.
Sue, gardening at the neighbor's? You're a genius! I'm gonna start planning now for the take over. ;)
Lisa, we could house swap for a week. That would be crazy-fun!
